Wellington for now


So, having established the lovely home and garden in Nelson, top of the South Island, and put it up for occasional use by AirBnB and LoveHome swappers, I took up an interesting 18-month contract in Wellington to work with VSA - NZ's volunteer service abroad agency.


Now, if there was ever a tempting place for a 'shifty fifty' susceptible-to-change type to work, it would have to be VSA! I'm currently up to my ears in Pacific projects, arranging partnerships and resourcing for good development stuff in countries like Vanuatu, Tonga, Fiji and Samoa.

Here's a pic of a marketplace in Fiji, humongous vegetables on offer, and me with a couple of amazing Kiwi volunteers working for UN Women in Suva. I'm really getting this cash-less economy thing now - house, mentoring, labour and skills exchanges are not only worthwhile, but fun! People doing good things and sharing what they can afford to...
